MY STORY

Hi!  I'm Stephanie - a newlywed living in Vancouver, Canada, who recently discovered how dietary lifestyle changes can positively impact your life and health.

For the last nine years, I've lived with ulcerative colitis - an autoimmune disease that affects the large intestine.  After years of trying different medications, I was still suffering from chronic abdominal pain.  Finally, I decided to seek help from a dietitian and started the low FODMAP** diet.

Now, the combination of changing my diet and continuing medication has changed my life.  For the first time in years, my symptoms have dramatically improved and most days I am pain-free. But when I learned that I had to give up flour, I was devastated!

That is, until I started experimenting with alternative flours and learning just how delicious grain-free baking can be.  Now I am excited to share my discoveries with others choosing a grain-free lifestyle.

Whether you are living with celiac disease, following a low FODMAP diet, or simply avoiding wheat for personal reasons, if baking is also one of your great joys, here are some tasty treats with all of the flavour and none of the flour.

**What is a low FODMAP diet? Designed by Monash University, this diet helps improve the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The diet is based on the principles of eliminating and reintroducing foods in a systematic way to identify trigger foods. For more information please visit:  https://www.monashfodmap.com/.  Speaking to a registered dietitian is an important step in deciding if a restrictive diet is right for you.
